A Walk Like No Other! – Starting at 9am from the showfield. Join Steve Watts, our Lakeland Guide, on one of his favourite walks to Alcock Tarn for some stunning panoramic views across Lakeland and the OMM showfield below. A moderate walk of approx 3 miles. Individuals of over 5 years old are welcome, and children can be carried. Appropriate Footwear & Clothing is essential! The route is on a trail but can be muddy; hiking boots or walking trainers with grips are recommended. Please bring along a waterproof jacket, water & snacks. If the weather is wet and cold, you’ll need warm layers. If it’s sunny, you’ll need your suntan lotion and a sun hat!

Steve’s love of the Lakes began in 1979 after reading an article about the late and great friend of fell running legend Joss Naylor. Joss advised Steve on their first meeting to stop thee smoking lose some weight and get on’t fell. Those words of advice and encouragement certainly changed Steve and his families lives forever. Now a Grasmere resident Steve is a lakeland guide offering a totally bespoke Lakeland Experience to people from all over the World. We are delighted to have Steve lead our family walks over this special weekend – Steves mantra is to ensure we Inspire the next Generation of Lakeland Lovers who in turn will become the future Custodians of the Jewel in England’s Crown.
